My little job list.

Well I'm back from our few days in Melbourne. We had a wonderful time and the weather was lovely. Not too cold at all!

So back to reality today, I have started compiling a little job list now that you can really feel that Spring is on its way.
A spring clean if you will!

So first on my list. Some gardening.
I want to replant our front window box with some hydrangeas.

I think I would prefer the white/green variety. But doesnt the soil affect the colour? Better check on that!
I also want to replant my little barrels. I was so proud of them last year! They lasted for ages.

This was my barrels last xmas. I really should have swept the doorstep!

My windows really need to be cleaned. I have been thinking about this for ages but didnt really worry during winter. But I cant put it off.
I'm wondering whether to hire someone or just bite the bullet and do it myself. I have lots of windows!

Next just some spring cleaning. I love the look of these cleaning products. So chic!

Next, a few new additions to my wardrobe.
 Some soft, pretty colours, springlike.

Then to plan a catch up with friends. To enjoy some of this beautiful weather coming up.
It is so nice in the middle of the day but still becomes chilly once the sun goes down.
Better clean off the bbq too!

Hmmm, just a few things.
I love the start of a new season!

What is on your spring clean list?
Or are you a sensible soul that maintains everything year round?

Jasper's lunch choice!

The other weekend we went to the Belrose Hotel for lunch, along with every other family on the Northern Beaches!!
They have a bistro area and an enclosed play area where the kids can run wild. The only problem is calling them back to the table when lunch arrives!
Anyway Jasper had a vegemite sandwich at home (he couldnt wait) so when the time came for him to choose something to eat from the menu, he pointed to this huge piece of cake!!

We let him order it, as he was so proud of himself for choosing something and telling the waitress and we knew he would only have a couple of bites before daddy polished it off for him!

You should have seen his eyes light up when it was placed on the table!
I got so much pleasure watching his pleasure!

Food Fashion Friends

Food Fashion Friends is the name of the new book I have to buy!
It is by the Australian designer Fleur Wood and the book is full of "recipes and styling for unforgettable parties"

"Cookbook, style guide and photographic tour de force, this is a gloriously indulgent celebration of the pleasures of frocking up, decking out and cooking up a storm."

"Fashion designer and passionate home cook Fleur Wood shows us how to create the kind of event that delights the eye and ignites the imagination, from a wild-child birthday party to a winter solstice fondue dinner and afternoon tea in the greenhouse with the girls."

Don't the images look beautiful?

I am dying to try the recipe for Coconut Ice. It looks like pink perfection, extra sweet and delicious!!

I want to run out and get it now!!

The perfect lunchbox!

Well, its Term 3 and the lunchbox ideas have dried up.
To be honest they were never that exciting anyway!
2 boys, 2 pretty fussy eaters. I have given up trying to tempt them with something different!

So day after day, the same boring things. Sandwich, fruit, yoghurt, blah, blah, blah!

I came across these pictures from a fellow blogger (sorry cant remember who!) and just loved her clever ideas on "merchandising" the basics!

So cute and tempting. I bet all the kids would want to trade lunches!

Looking at these I should really make more of an effort!!

I'm sure even my husband would appreciate a ham and cheese squirrel sandwich in his lunch box!

all images via a fellow blogger who's name escapes me! sorry

Shopping recommendations from the Design Files.

I came across a post from the Design Files about Surry Hills that made me want to go shopping!

I dont head into the city that much , probably due to lack of time. But I really should make the effort.

There are a few shops I want to check out.

David met Nicole. There looks like so many quirky things to see.

Garlands florist for beautiful blooms

Ici et la - the prettiest striped fabric

Penny Arcade - lots of bits & pieces

Spence & Lyda -Missoni, missoni, missoni!!

Doug up on Bourke - who knows what you will find!

Nickson St - I bet I could find those huge letters I want here!

I love to browse around new shops. You could find a real treasure!
